General Appearance: Ayase is a petite young woman, standing at only five feet and three inches tall, and weighing “the same as a sack of rice” as her mother likes to put it. She has very pale skin and bright pink eyes, and were it not for the pinkish hue of her hair, she might be mistaken for an albino. Overall her appearance gives the impression of fragility - as though a strong wind might knock her over. She wears her straight pink hair long, normally in two loose pigtails (mostly to keep it out of the way). When she’s excited or doing something athletic it often comes loose and does whatever it feels like. Because of how fragile she appeared she was kept from participating in most ‘dangerous’ activities and so has only one scar. Barely noticeable encircling her left wrist is a series of geometrically shaped scars that move down her forearm slightly in an asymmetrical fashion. She can be found most often wearing clothing that is delicate, flowing, and reveals a decent portion of her skin to leave her Quirk unhindered; dresses with ribbons, lace, flowers and bold shapes.

Personality: Ayase appears to be timid and shy - and in some ways she is. Before she has a chance to get comfortable around someone she is reserved, not wanting to offend or upset anyone - out of a fear of not being liked. Once she counts someone as a friend however, her true personality shines through. She is passionate and excitable, loud and seemingly fearless. She does her best to be polite and considerate, however she is difficult to deal with when she becomes angry - bordering on belligerent. She is idealistic to a fault and will always pursue the more fantastic and romantic option if there is one. If romance or fantasy aren’t on the table, she’ll try to invent it.
Ambitions: More than anything Ayase wants to be a Hero. Having been told her whole life to “be careful” and “it’s too dangerous” she wants to prove that she isn’t some fragile thing that needs protecting. While not the most intelligent course of action, Ayase’s head is lead by her heart, and being a Hero would not only prove to the world that she’s just as capable as others - it would prove it to herself.
(Dis)Interests: Ayase enjoys the more physical branches of the arts; singing, dancing, theater. She loves music and is often humming her new favourite song (she gets a new one about once a week) while working on anything. She deeply enjoys the theater, having been in a few small productions when she was young it gives her a feeling of comfort. Her favourite plays are always the romances and all the better if they have some fantasy element to them; like dragons, magicians or princess in castles. She spends most of her days dreamily wandering through life and not much appears to bother her, save her greatest dislike. Bullies. No matter how shy she is, or afraid - if someone is hurting someone else weaker than them she cannot abide it. The only time that isn’t true is when the person being bullied is her.
Fear(s): Ayase is afraid of being rejected and unliked. It doesn’t come through as a fear on the surface, since she is careful to tell almost no one of its existence. However because she is so deeply afraid of the judgements of others; she goes to great lengths to endear herself to those around her. To the point of sacrificing her own wants, needs and level of comfort in order to do so.

Name: Prism

Description: Prism allows the bearer of the quirk to transform their bodies (in whole or in part) into a crystalline representation of their form that is capable of manipulating light. The user's body becomes multifaceted and semi-translucent, the colour of the crystalline body is dependant on the light waves that the user wishes to manipulate (usually the body would be clear). These facets of their new ‘body’ are able to refract, concentrate and redirect any light present. This can include changing the colour of the light, having it change its course, and directing any present light into an intense beam, or diffusing it to create a softer glow from a harsh light.
Drawbacks: Firstly; the bearer of Prism cannot actually create light. Light must be present in order for the effects of Prism to be made manifest. Meaning that in a dark room, or a moonless night the effects would be minimal at best. As an unfortunate side effect of Prism, the transformation into a crystalline construct makes the user more susceptible to physical damage. The multifaceted nature of the form, as well as it’s slight malleability (to enable movement) creates a scenario where the user can suffer ‘stress cracks’ along any point of intense pressure or impact. From a mechanical standpoint; Blunt force will cause the next rank higher in blunt force damage to any part of the user that is crystallized. (D-Rank - minor bruising - will cause C-Rank damage - major external bruising.) This is a cause for true fear - as once the stress cracks begin they cannot be stopped and will spread to the rest of the body unless the user reverts back to the flesh. (The damage sustained will remain, however the user no longer runs the risk of shattering.) Shattering: If enough damage is sustained to shatter a bone (A-Rank or above) - the affected crystalline area will also shatter which will most likely result in the loss of the limb etc. that has been shattered.
Limit Break: Prism, although capable of granting great strength and versatility is a delicate balance between the crystalline structure it provides and the flesh and bone it transforms. When going beyond the users limit pool, the fundamental building blocks of the user begin to break down, resulting in seemingly spontaneous injuries. At -5 the user suffers D-Rank damage over the entirety of their body, and at -10 (just before falling unconscious) the user suffers C-Rank damage in the same way.


Hometown: Born in Tokyo, now in Sendai
History: Ayase was born three months premature in the tiny apartment of her loving and overprotective parents. Both her parents were very hardworking and determined to make a good life for their daughter in the rather expensive city of Tokyo. Ayase was tiny enough when she was a baby that her parents were secretly worried she might not survive at all. But despite their fears she was a happy and healthy child, always trying to explore and escape outside to play with the other children. Both her parents wanted to keep her safe, and as well meaning as they were, only helped to develop a shyness and fear within Ayase of the other children. So when one sunny day she had managed to crawl outside unnoticed (yet again) she felt compelled to stay away from the other kids, choosing to play in a nearby garden. It didn’t take long for some of the children playing in the same park to notice the tiny thing humming quietly while sitting amongst the lilies and violets. Children are often cruel, it is unfortunate and rarely intentional however it is a fact. And that day, without meaning to, those children were cruel to Ayase. They wanted to know everything about her, why she was so pale, why her eyes were pink - they tugged at her hair and poked at her arms. Just harmless childish curiosity but to Ayase it was terrifying and as one of the older kids jabbed at her tiny arm again she reacted. Her left hand transformed into a crystal and just as quickly as the transformation had taken place she held it up in an effort to ward off the children. Ayase crystal hand was perfectly placed to capture the rays of sunlight and amplify them in a brilliant sunburst around her small form. Noticing that this effect had stopped the children from invading her personal space she held her hand up until a pain like hot razor sharp knives spread through her left hand and started to move down her arm. She stopped focusing on her Quirk and crumpled to the ground, staring in horror at the jagged lines of blood that had formed. Before it had even registered that she should look for help, she was scooped up into her father’s arms and taken to hospital. Her parents were proud that her Quirk had surfaced, but were just as horrified as she had been at it’s devastating side effects. Slowly everything in their small apartment was replaced by soft and non reflective materials. Her parents weren’t taking any chances that their only daughter might shatter into a thousand pieces. Despite the coddling Ayase was determined to be a hero and against her parents wishes she went to great lengths to train herself to be stronger and more resilient, even applying at Heisotsu. Her parents were hard pressed to say no when they saw she had been accepted, so with great reluctance they moved to Sendai to help support their daughter. She had few friends growing up - only one actually, Shin. A boy that she was able to spend time with because of their respective parents living in such close proximity. Her fondest memories were of spending time with him and talking about her dreams of being a Hero one day. Now in her last few weeks of high school and set to graduate her dreams may actually come true.
